Atiye returns with “Olay,” her highly anticipated new single featuring lyrics and music by legendary Turkish singer-songwriter Sezen Aksu. Released under the DMC label, the track is arranged by Erol Sebebci. Built around deep basslines, dramatic strings, sophisticated harmonies, and a restrained yet captivating groove, “Olay” creates a dark and powerful sonic atmosphere that draws the listener in from the very first note. The mysterious pull of its minor-key tonality meets Arabic-inspired melodic nuances and rhythmic elements rooted in the celebratory musical traditions of the Levant. This distinctive fusion gives the track both a sensual quality and an intense, high-energy character. With a strong sense of movement running throughout the song, rich orchestral layers and intricate harmonic details add depth, grandeur, and sophistication to the production. At the heart of it all is Atiye’s confident, controlled, and unmistakably distinctive vocal performance, bringing the different elements of the track together. “Olay” brings together the intensity of a dark dance record, refined harmonies, majestic orchestral textures, and Arabic-inspired sensuality, marking a bold and striking new chapter in Atiye’s musical journey.
