About

Ayna is a Turkish rock band founded in 1996 by Erhan Güleryüz, Cemil Özeren, and Can Güney.

The band released their debut album in 1996 under the production of Erol Köse. Their journey, which began with the song "Gittiğin Yağmurla Gel", continued until 2002, after which they parted ways with producer Erol Köse following the release of the album "Bostancı Durağı." That same year, lead vocalist Cemil Özeren also left the band.

In 2004, Erhan Güleryüz released his solo album "Doğum Günü" along with the band’s album "Denizden Geliyoruz"under the label Rüzgar Yapım. Since then, they have continued on their musical path independently.

Despite their significant success, Ayna's achievements have often been overlooked due to their refusal to conform to popular culture. The band identifies itself not as an “album band” but as a “live performance band.” Since their formation, they have undergone multiple lineup changes—working with over 20 different musicians—while maintaining lasting friendships in their personal lives, including with key former member Cemil Özeren.

Between 2007 and 2012, Ayna hosted the program "Aynadan Yansıyanlar" on the TRT-Müzik channel at various intervals. From the very beginning, they have enjoyed a loyal fan base that has stayed with them throughout the years. In their concerts, they’ve managed to get crowds to sing along to both their latest songs and classics from years past.

Cemil Özeren, the former vocalist of the band, sadly passed away on November 20, 2012, due to cirrhosis, a disease he had been battling for some time. In 2016, Ayna composed the anthem "Şampiyonluk Yakışır Sana" (“You Deserve to Be Champions”) for the Turkish national football team competing in the UEFA Euro 2016 Championship held in France.
